PolityLens is free to use and requires no account. It is offered for personal, noncommercial use, to help you understand the public record and your representatives.

We source everything from official government records and work hard to present it faithfully, but we cannot guarantee that every figure is complete or error-free. For anything consequential (a vote you plan to act on, a financial figure you plan to cite), verify it against the primary source we link to.

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

Please use PolityLens the way it's meant to be used. Do not scrape the site aggressively or in a way that degrades it for others, and do not redistribute our data commercially without permission. The underlying government data is public. Our presentation of it is not free to repackage and sell.

Some summaries on PolityLens are generated with the help of AI. They are labeled as such, may contain errors, and are not legal, financial, or professional advice. Treat them as a starting point and confirm against the official text before relying on them.

PolityLens is free, and any contribution is voluntary and simply helps keep the site running. PolityLens is not a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card details.

If you choose a recurring (monthly) donation, your card is charged automatically on or around the same day each month as the day you signed up, and it continues until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through our contact page. Cancellations are handled by a person, so we ask for up to 5 business days to process your request. If a scheduled charge happens to go through after you have asked to cancel but before we have processed it, we will refund that charge in full, as long as your request reached us before the charge was made. Cancelling stops all future charges; contributions already completed in earlier months are not refunded. Refunds are returned to your original payment method and may take a few business days to appear.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from your use of PolityLens will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PolityLens after a change means you accept the updated terms.
